Circle of Art invites you to escape for a couple of hours, and indulge in some creativity. The sessions are designed to be calm and relaxing, allowing you to focus and forget about daily worries. Suitable for beginners or advanced artists: it’s more about enjoyment than skill.
What to expect:
A still life featuring a range of objects will be set up for the session. Please choose a spot that feels comfortable to you — whether at a table or working from a chair. You are welcome to bring an easel.
You can choose to capture the whole still life or focus on particular objects. You may prefer to make several studies or concentrate on one piece, and you’re free to move around during the session to explore different angles.
Paper and pencils will be provided, though you’re encouraged to bring any preferred materials of your own. Please avoid hazardous or strong-smelling substances such as turpentine.
Soft, relaxing music will be played to help everyone settle into a creative flow. You’re welcome to chat, and the atmosphere will be informal and friendly.
A 15-minute break is planned halfway through the two hour session, though you’re welcome to take breaks whenever you need.
Your session host, Emma, will be on hand to offer guidance or feedback if requested.
After the session, reference images of the still life will be available so you can continue working at home if you wish.
